Maestro C (Frank Corrado)
When I was a kid, a band named, the Beatles arrived and although all four of them were my heroes, I was a huge Paul McCartney fan. He was the bass player and wrote a song called, Yesterday. On that song he played acoustic guitar and when I saw him play it I realized for the first time that people can play more than one instrument. I was already playing saxophone in the school band and quickly taught myself clarinet and flute. Soon after, I was playing piano, guitar and bass. Other kids took notice and I would be asked to play in different bands; country, rock, jazz and pop. I loved it all and tried to learn all of the different playing styles from each style of music. The last genre of music to learn was classical. As with my piano and guitar playing, I attempted many orchestral pieces on these two instruments. One of my favorite composers is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. He had written a piece called, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. I loved this melody so much that I wrote lyrics to it about my bike. When our record producer, Rick Chertoff heard it, he became excited and it became a Dream Jam band song. He then turned to me and said, "Bravo maestro. You are Maestro C" because my last name begins with the letter C. The members of The Dream Jam band have called me, Maestro C ever since and I am so proud of the music I have learned to play, write and record. I have learned that if you love what you do, you will always be happy.
